Due to the assholes in the crowd that wouldn't stop making me push away and such at Stubb's, and the fact that I had been standing up in the sun with nothing to drink for several hours before the concert (in line, waiting, meat puppets, more waiting, etc.) and not being able to get to the water bottles because people wouldn't settle down, I had a hard time enjoying the concert because I felt dehydrated. Oh well, I only felt bad for trilogy. The show was amazing, and was the best birthday present I've ever gotten.

That is a shame. I sat in the back waiting for the horribly BORING and pathetic meat puppets (who have ALWAYS SUCKED, no matter what any of you may hear), and when they finished my brother and I ,oved up to about 1/3 of the way from the stage. Great spot. we got lucky. I could see everything and hear everything and not too much stupid shit.

I loved the puppets, but to each his own. The moshing was fun on songs like Hey Joni, but for the most part it made no sense..well it did make sense (a bunch of high/drunk 20 somethings with their girlfriends)

i just thibnk it is nuts tht that many young 20 somethings were at a shoe for a band old enough to be their parents, and that has been rocking since before they were born. I love it

meat puppets suck ass!

Nah, they've been favorites of mine for a while. Love the guitar work.
Not to mention that it is truly distinctive, and at the time, there really wasn't much else like it.

I will give you that. they did sound distinctive.
the meat puppets that opened for the youth was a very tepid version of their old selves though.

Rob I saw them twice on the Up On The Sun tour in 86 and they were really great, and then they got on crack and sucked and then they got that mad cobaine money and REALLY SUCKED. Based on my attempted interaction with them (wanted an interview for my zine) they were not nice people.
