It not necessarily that this material is not good so much as there is much better material that could have been selected. I do believe this is a posthumous "way to go Noel" album and quite honestly Jimi kicked Noel out of the group at this time precisely because of the boring material that was being recorded which it turns out is the album. There is MUCH better material from this era that I suppose we shall see later

I picked up the single last month, the title track is cool though I've heard itbefore somewhere. The B-side (not on the album) features a Mitch Mitchell vocal which is weird because Jimi's guitar is so obvious throughout, and then Mitchell starts singing...

My understanding is most of these tracks had been released in different formats over the years but this was how the album most likely would have looked if released by Hendrix.

Some of the late period concerts I've heard are incredible. Anybody who says Hendrix is overrated is a moron. But I bet that person has a favorite thport'th thtar.

James Marshal Hendrix died 47 years ago today......on the same day Black Sabbath - Paranoid was released.

What a day that must have been!
