good first listen. standouts for me are O.F.Y.C. showcase, cowboy george, Y.F.O.C./slippy floor, chino, and fucking WEATHER REPORT 2!

the only song i dislike is funnel of love.

gah. so happy this is good.

yeah i'm liking this a lot on first listen! think i may burn it off onto a disc and buy it if it holds up. I'm always really half and half about my feelings for the fall. but enjoying this yeah.

One day Mark E. Smith is walking down a street (in Salford, I think) and he sees a little girl crying. He asks her what’s wrong and she says she’s lost her teddy bear. So he says, ‘Don’t worry. He’s gone touring with a rock band.’ The little girl calms down and every now and again Mark would send a postcard from Mark E. Bear from a variety of destinations. He kept this up until she was 28.

Okay. So I've listened to it once, and play it for the second time right now. I love it, totally love it. It's the best album they've done in quite some time, easily.

Great fucking album. This band never ceases to amaze me. I think it's actually, from front to back, their most listenable record since REAL NEW FALL.

I love "Cowboy George"... anyone else think that song, and "Chino", kinda sound like Jesus Lizard songs? The twisted, bent guitar lines.. the odd rhythm section (mainly speaking about "Chino"), and obviously Mark's no-time-at-all vocal delivery is similiar to Yow's anyway. Kinda weird.

I dunno who is playing guitar on this one, but I am really digging some of the more surfy and Western-influenced guitar lines on the thing.
