It's a stupid genre name I agree, like "intelligent dance music" and "post-rock" (after the rock? what?) but for the sake of convenience I used a terrible phrase.

Whenever I introduce people to slowcore they say it sounds like Snow Patrol.

Same with Bakesale era Sebadoh. Welp.
