A couple of months ago I re-watched Public Enemies on dvd. Aside from marveling at how a top notch director with two top notch actors using a top notch script could so royally FUCK UP a should have been instant classic movie, I noticed the awesomeness of a certain guitar sound playing as Bale is chasing Channing Tatum through the woods before blowing him away.

It was Otis Taylor "Ten Million Slaves". I've now downloaded/bought everything the guy has done, and he's amazing. I didn't know blues was still viable at all, but this guy's music is haunting, pseudo-psychedelic trip out New Orleans swamp blues stuff that absolutely rocks!

Everyone should listen to him.
