Surfer Rosa is from 1988, as is It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
Don't know if I can do this. I'm pretty bad at making lists. |

I had to double check because I thought for sure it came out in 88 or 89 but it actually came out in the 90's.
There are 1 or 2 SCG releases I like "better" but that's probably their greatest album, so I felt that was the one I needed to include. |

Most people think the album's a joke... though I think it's beautiful. Hopefully you'll see my view on it.
You should see the reaction I get when I show the album to Red Hot Chili Peppers fans... they run a mile. Which also brings up another funny point, RHCP spend MILLIONS on their production... yet the majority of tracks on that album were recorded on a shitty tape recorder/boombox. Most people don't hear the random bong sounds throughout the album hah. |

My friend Greg, who's favourite bands include RHCP and Aerosmith, said to me a few months ago that he finally "got" the album and that it's his favourite album now.
I think we became better friends after that haha. Nice to see not everyone around my village is a close-minded idiot. |

I've noticed more than one person nominate Melt Banana's Charlie over their vastly superior effort for Tzakik. Pricks.

Well don't look at me, I voted for Scratch or Stitch! Which no one will really agree with, but it's all opinion in the end.

It's a better call. I'm not disagreeing with it. But Charlie is simply the wrong choice.

lechaoscestmoi,
Just so you know, I PM'ed pantophobia my top 25 only. Sorry you are so upset that I listed a hundred that you felt the need to neg rep me and call me a "twat." I suppose it's not too far of a stretch to guess that you're a either a sexist idiot or merely an aper of those quirky Brits who quite boringly and routinely use "twat" as a derogatory term. Perhaps you are both. I refrained from any lobbying in the other best of '00s listing thread, but haven't here. Watch your mouth kid, or you're gonna find yourself floating home. |

Charlie is by far my fav. Melt Banana album, followed by Teeny Shiny. The Tzadik one -- is that the live album? Yeah, it's good.

derek, this frusciante album is fucking amazing.
Reminds me of a really heroined-out guy who decided to try to cover lick my decals off baby in its entirety after only hearing it once, with almost no production values whatsoever and no other band members to speak off. Great shit! |
