First home game in over a year thanks to Hurricane Katrina.
Lots of energy from the crowd and a lot of amazing plays. Good for them. With all the shit the Saints and their fans and the entire population of New Orlaens has gone through in the past year, they deserve to have a cause for celebration. |

I actually like the Saints and had them as my dark horse to make the playoffs. Their D showed a lot tonight against ATL. With the addition of a real QB, a new coach, and Reggie Bush to split carries with Deuce, I really think they have a shot. Although they have nothing on my beloved Redskins (in my heart....not on the field), they still are one of the teams that I root for.

Previous to this game, Atlanta had came out this year strong, but I am proud to report that I picked New Orleans in this game. I heard Sean Salisbury say, "nobody gave them (the Saints) much of a chance." I gave myself a pat on the back when I heard that. Sean is a bit of a blowhard, but at least he champions the Chargers.
It's funny how the local news is so giddy over the Redskins finally winning when all they did is beat the Texans. Like Brees, Brunell is simply too short to play in the modern game and has to manuever out of the pocket to get over defenders heads and to see the field and it limits his effectiveness considerably. As an added handicap, he is simply too old. The Redskins would be one of the best teams if they got a better offensive line and quarterback. Until they do, I don't see them doing much. Culpepper and B. Johnson and to a lesser extent, Favre, Bledsoe and Warner are okay, but they are all getting too old also. |
