MEMBERS OF DEFTONES AND ISIS TOUCH PALMS Today in supergroup news: Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno is teaming up with ex-Isis members Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide to form a new band, called Palms (thus my witty headline). In a statement, Harris says the band came together “a little over a year ago out of a desire [for the three of us] to continue making music together after ISIS ended,” and that Moreno joined later… and that’s really all we know. The band hasn’t released any music yet, although apparently their debut will be out later this year via Ipecac Recordings. But even with such scant info, it’s impossible not to be intrigued by the team-up. Hopefully the results will be more provocative than just “Isis with Chino Moreno on vocals,” although that probably wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, either. More details as we get ‘em… -AR |

this is why I also have been digging the deftones. Haters don't realize they are really an underground/indy kind of band, and so they have always focused on small venue shows and numerous side-projects. to enjoy the deftones is to be exposed to several other projects like a tree, just as many other good bands have done in the past. I hope that it doesn't get swallowed up by Maverick like Team Sleep did, but Crosses seems to be surviving well on their own
