yes, when people are taking something silly serious it makes me wonder why they can't see the silliness for themselves? The guy in Kansas who smoked that infamous abortionist (in the middle of Church for Christ's sake!) claimed that he shot down the man in premeditated cold blood because "Our Heavenly Father commanded thou Shalt not kill" and this doctor was killing unborn babies!? which you have every right to do, it is a matter of taste. For me, I cant for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to shave off the corners of their mustache? and whats up with trimming right below the nose? I mean, I don't think people need to go full-out Tom Sellac or anything, but all that mustache trimming looks rather silly to me..

My own beard has a naturally ragged look to it that requires trimming from time to time. Shaving off the corners would be a good option for when I don't want to look like Robin Hood.
