It seems to be. I have a Squier Affinity Tele as well. It's held up well, the only problem is that the neck pickup went belly-up about a year ago and I had to have it replaced (it didn't cost me anything, the guy did it for free).
The one I just got is also a bit lighter that my other Tele. I think the extra routing for the knobs, pickups, and switch account for this. The skunk stripe neck is a nice touch too.
