Most--all but three or four--suck. Actually, there's always at least one good song on every album. But there's a TON of shit. I think it's pretty sad that, like, BLUE MASK is considered a "good" one. It has about three good tunes on it.

One wants to love Lou. He started VU. He followed the big hit TRANSFORMER with BERLIN, followed the big hit SALLY CAN'T DANCE with MMM. Who wouldn't want to love the guy?

But he makes it very hard. Really, it wasn't until fucking 1989 that he finally released a really good one, NEW YORK, which based upon a recent re-listen strikes me as his greatest achievement. No bullshit, great lyrics, great guitars. He could've been doing this all along.

I blame Bowie.
I just donīt want to love Lou, I love Lou (well actually his music).
