Detour
Perhaps the ultimate B Movie Noir; it was made for practically nothing, clocks in at barely over the hour and has to one of the bleakest, seediest films to have ever come out of Hollywood (Fritz Lang's film noirs aside). Saddest thing is that all the DVD versions are from terrible prints, although that at least adds to the z-grade cheapness of it all. As with classic westerns, when I watch movies like this I find myself wondering why I bother watching anything else. Massively recommended.
