fugazifan there has the translation right. i saw an interview with tori kudo (whose band maher shalal hash baz is) where he explained that he picked the phrase randomly from a bible. '
plunder speedeth - spoil hasteth' sounded very punk rock to him, apparently.
personally i think 'maher shalal hash baz' just has a nice ring to it. it's fun to say too.
