Indeed i saw the score on my twitter feed and was initially almost disappointed that i didn't see it and then i remembered i could care less! I don't watch tennis, golf, or racing either so i could care less if i missed an all time performance in them either

USA don't dominate. The best Women's teams are those with the best national infrastructure so it makes sense that the US women's team does well, but Germany are generally recognised as the dominant side, they just didn't happen to win this particular tournament.

There's nothing remotely weak about women's football. People just need to stop comparing it with the men's game and take it on its own terms. It has a different skill-set, as you say. Although saying that, the fact men can't play women probably spares the blushes of a lot of men. And in more specialist positions, like goalkeeper, I think players like Hope Solo are at least as good as plenty of male goalkeepers I've seen at the national level.
