Scratch what I said earlier in this thread. I kinda just dismissed the Smiths after loving them hardcore when I was 15, but this thread has made me go back and relisten to all the Smiths albums and they're one of the best bands ever. You really have to be in the right mood for them, obviously, but the fucking construction of these songs, especially in the layers and layers of guitar, blows my mind. They're just a really good pop band for the most part. The bassplaying in Hand in Glove and You've Got Everything Now! Great band. I'm hooked.
