This week on What's This Called? for Saturday, September 13th your host Ricardo Wang is joined by Aphonia recordings artist Mangled Bohemians!

From
Noon to 1 PM Pacific Time (that's 2-3 PM in Manitoba, Winnipeg, eh?) on KPSU...

Mangled Bohemians are an intensely atmospheric two-piece band featuring massively effected guitar and electronics. Mining heavily from the post-punk tradition of the likes of Glenn Branca, Savage Republic, Heathen Earth era Throbbing Gristle, and Sonic Youth's SYR releases, Mangled Bohemians create long spacey drones that melt into beautiful washes of ambient noise. While a Portland OR group all the way, their new album Degeneration is on Seattle's highly prolific experimental label Aphonia Recordings. They will be performing live at Portland's Rererato (5135 NE 42nd AVE) on Friday, September 19th with Chicago's Shalloboi, Dead Air Fresheners, and Olympia cellist Derek M. Johnson.

STREAMING AUDIO HERE!

Or in PDX- in Full Spectrum Analog!:

1450 AM in the Portland OR/Vancouver WA metro area
98.1 FM on the Portland State University campus

Also On Tap: Brand New Legendary Pink Dots and the Noggin Big Band!
