Movies where animals attack and kill humans aren't generally of the best kind, maybe because the plot often isn't that complex and special effects can prove to be a bit tricky to make them look like truly believable scenarios. I still enjoy this genre enough (am I correct in calling it a genre? Or should films like these simply be referred to as disaster movies?), at least for pure entertainment meant to fill the gaps on Sunday afternoons when you can't think of any other films to watch.

Some favourites:

Jaws and Jaws 2

Ben

Wild Beasts

Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell

A ridiculous movie which I can’t help loving. The final scenes where the satanic beast turns into a giant, cartoonish projection are often regarded as terrible filmmaking. I have bad taste, therefore they work fine for me.

Shakma

Cheeky monkey!
