there are a bazillion problems with this meme if you take a minute to think it through

1) new mexico public school teachers receive modest pay but get good benefits. i don't know why walter had to work at a fucking car wash. if he had become a nationally certified teacher (something he had the capacity to do) he would have doubled his pay. plus there are things they can do like coaching for extra money.

2) teacher pay is low but they work only nine months: 2 weeks off for the holidays, a week off fall break, a week off spring break, plus two months vacation. a lot of teachers work summer school for the loot.

3)there's a union contract and get very good health insurance. the maximum out of pocket this year is $4000 per family, and deductibles run between $750 to $2000 per person. this is, oh, a decade after? the employer pays the bulk of the premiums. there's also dental, vision, life, long term disability, plus other options.

4) in addition to this there is catastrophic and umbrella coverage for things like cancer. ever heard of AFLAC? he should have gotten AFLAC.

5) the reason walter white turn to meth is because he had emotional/psychological problems. this is why he left his company, this is why he had a shitty marriage, this is why he turned to crime.

so, hm, tv is not reality, but even tv needs to be watched critically
