At both of the other SY shows I attended the band cleared off the stage one-by-one or in pairs, leaving only Jim and Thurston and then Lee, Jim, and Thurston at the other one.
This feels closer to the spirit of jazz improv. For example, when Matthew Shipp came in early 2005, he and William Parker eventually stopped during the encore leaving only Guillermo E. Brown playing (by throwing his drumsticks at the kit) for ten minutes or so to close the show.
Oh yeah, Sunday came and Sunday went, and Rather Ripped sounds even better live!
