Parodies aside, the connection of the real
Goo cover to the Moors murders can be truly disturbing, especially as the woman (who isn't Myra Hindley, but her sister, I know) and her husband come off looking as übercool Warhol Factory scenesters (not entirely Raymond Pettibon's fault; that's pretty much how they look in the photograph on which the drawing is based anyway). Those unspeakable crimes were no joke, and didn't only affect the raped and murdered kids and their families - a whole generation of Mancunians grew up with fear and a heavy heart because of them.
