Emos are easily mocked but in the big scheme of social menaces they hardly figure that highly. I have an emo couple as neighbours, and they're extremely nice. Certainly more pleasant than other neighbours I've had in the past.

I agree with Melly's point above that, when you hear about basically decent people being kicked to death simply because of the way they dress, we should be supporting a sub-culture that is certainly more open-minded than a culture that literally seems to want to see them dead.
