gmku pet peeve: When somebody e-mails me about a news item, e.g., Ted Kennedy's death, and not to express an opinion on it but simply to announce it--as if I don't pay attention to the news. My brother does this all the time and drives me nuts. Like this morning, he sends me an e-mail with the subject line "Ted Kennedy is dead" and all that's in the message is a link to the New York Times.
gmku is almost as irritated when he sees these news items pop up in SY, e.g., the RIPs, but at least here the ostensible reason is as an outlet for thoughts (or so I would like to think).
