Side 2:

Track 1: A symphonic orchestral piece, sort of reminds me of biblical movies, very grand and dramatic. I like biblical movie scores.

Track 2: Vintage country, lonesome singing and harmonizing choruses, spare instrumentations. It's awesome!

Track 3: Bagpipes, or at least they seem like bagpipes, a friend of mine used to live upstairs from a guy who used to play this all the time, she has two dogs and, well, the dogs would get freaked out whenever the guy started wailing on the 'pipes...if i played her this, she'd hate me; i like backpipes, i love their sound, the droning, even how they look.

Track 4: Dead pan voice? simple repetitive guitar riff? pounding drums? it's the Fall of course! an awesome band, goes without saying, i'm almost sure i know the song but can't quite put my finger on it...i don't have that many Fall albums, been meaning to buy them instead of downloading so i'm quite behind on my Fall listening...i do have a couple of Fall concert bootlegs

Track 5: Lo-fi stuff, strumming guitars with a broken sounding-like slide one on top, then singing; sounds a bit like Polvo if they had been mentored by Sebadoh.

Track 6: Unmistakable!! that's Low!! i love that band so much! Alan and Mimi harmonize beautifully over a bit of delicate drum pounding and a tremolo-effected guitar, calling out for god. It's trascendent prettyness that goes up and down; the heavy flanging instrument at the end sounds so heavy. Is it the Spiritualized cover they did?

Track 7: Weird beats, female singing samples, a rapper that reminds me a little of Twista, a female rapper. The beat doesn't flow well, choppy editing, and it's pretty electronic, sounds very interesting,

Track 8: Sounds like a bad cassette audience recording, rumbling, some swaying notes and someone half singing, occassional screams, synths. Might be Suicide, i like the atmosphere.

Track 9: Something that sounds like a song from a movie from the 40's (or a Van Dyke Parks song) but with a very high, vibrating leading instrument where you expect singing, bowed strings and such give it a balladesque feeling. It's kinda creepy but i like it a lot!

Track 10: Roy Orbison - It's Over; my mom spotted the song when i first heard the tape, lovely song, his voice makes me feel really nostalgic but not in a bad way.

thanks glice!
