I fail to see Rebekah Del Rio only in the context of "Mulholland Drive", even though I understand the importance of that performance and my mind has been blown away by it's massive beauty more than once.

Some other things she's contributed to other soundtracks ("Man On Fire", "Sin City") might not be that great or have such an impact, but I've always adored her voice. Her official records are great to show the extent of her passion and talent, and I would recommend people to check those out despite the fact that I know physical copies are hard to find. Those into listening to .MP3s will be satisfied if they look on cd.baby or iTunes, though.

In addition to her brilliance as a singer, I've heard that she has been very active and generous in donating time, effort and money to charity in the past. I do hope she'll come out of this as fine as possible, with her voice, body and even her spirit, totally undamaged so that we can have more of her music for a long time.

I'm obviously not happy at all with these shitty news. As it happens, David Lynch's movies and his art in general, didn't fuck me up. One thing they did, though, was to show me the path to the amazing work of other artists, whom I now consider some of my favorites (Angelo Badalamenti, Chrysta Bell, Julee Cruise...), or at least a few worthy of certain amount of exploration (I'll throw Roy Orbison in this category as well: let's not forget the role of his music on "Blue Velvet" either).

Anyway, in case it is of importance to anyone reading these boards, donations to help her deal with hospital costs, medical treatment, and anything else arising out of this situation, can be made to:

Rebekah Del Rio
7985 Santa Monica Blvd. #585
Los Angeles, CA

Or through Paypal to: rottifrida@aol.com

Also, it does seem the December 16th show will be streaming live over at stageit.com, so you could gain access to watch if you would register and donate/pay what you can:
