^^ yeah i don't have the same cultural experience with alcohol

in my 3rd world hovel when i was a kid, yeah, "drink, motherfucker" was definitely a command-- a lot of social pressure and if you don't drink you're a pussy, etc--so i am not denying that this exists.

but here in 'merica honestly i know a lot of people who won't drink, or will have only one drink or two, and have no problem integrating with everybody else. someone comes to my house and don't want alcohol i offer tea or coffee or lemonade or whatever.

if anything, it's the habitual drunks that have a hard time fitting in after their early 20s. teh world of grownups is definitely NOT a frat paty.
