most what Serge Gainsbourg did was uplifting, perhaps except for the Melody Nelson album. His early work is more jazzy, and this entire album, his second from 1959, has lots of brass. Lateron the brass were replaced with strings, such as on the Jane Birkin/Serge Gainsbourg Album
There's hardly any strings on this album, and no brass. But it has Brigitte Bardot And it does make me very happy: Serge Gainsbourg - Initials B.B.
