Beefheart is one of the most important artists in the popular music. So is Dr. John. Beefheart had two great eras: 1967-70 & 1979-82. Also really love Bongo Fury. Spotlight Kid & Clear Spot are good albums, Unconditionally & Bluejeans are listenable.

One thing about White Stripes: Zeppelin made five great albums, I havenīt heard decent whole album from White Stripes, only good songs ( I have heard White Blood Cells & Elephant).
