seriously just dive the fuck in, start with the fushitsusha double lives and then dive out from there -- leave watashi dake? for a little bit as that one is genuinely tough to listen to but so rewarding once you crack it. play around with the main fushitsusha lineup (kosugi & ozawa), the stuff with ikuro takahashi is incredible but so radically different to pretty much anything that registers as rock music. also maybe check out aihiyō (his bar band with takahashi and masami kawaguchi, partially sounds like flying nun meets the void). the soul's true love set on bleak bliss^^ is really great but also pretty difficult, payoff on the ethereal blues track at the end of the fushitsusha disc is so worth it though.

essentially just sample anything and everything that you can get your hands on. there's inevitably going to be stuff you'll hate so steer clear of the less palatable stuff first up (global ancient atmosphere comes to mind, know some people really hate the a capella and electronics stuff but I adore it), the way it pretty much works is if you listen to a couple of releases and can at least appreciate what he's trying to do then you'll eventually hear the right thing and it'll pretty much be the end of music for you.
