There are two things that I'm thinking here.

Firstly, the whole concept of this thread is kinda stupid. None of us were blessed with perfect taste from day one - I used to think The Offspring were a good band before I discovered other, better bands.
And that's my point: the shit-but-popular stuff that you listen to when you're fourteen and just discovering music is a gateway to the good-but-less-popular stuff.
Not that a lot of it's shit anyway - MCR still holds up in my book.

Secondly, I'm really tempted to start shooting my mouth about bands I don't listen to, despite the knowledge that that would be hypocritical...okay, fuck it. Twenty One Pilots should not be listened to.
