it bums me out when people say this. video games stimulate the brain with strategy, puzzle solving, and reflexes. it might actually be more important to play games with aging as it's been shown to reduce early dementia.

a friend won't play video games despite enjoying them quite a bit, over some sort of discomfort with being judged for it, i guess. he's got a bit of brooklyn hipster in him. i guess he thinks people will think it's uncool?

it's weird to deny yourself enjoyment of an entire art form just because they were targeted toward kids in the 80s and early 90s. most games are aimed at adults these days. no more stigma. enjoy what you enjoy.
