Angelopoulos is actually really good tbh, I just wasn't ready for him at the time and was really watching for all the wrong reasons. I watched Eternity and a Day a few months ago and loved it.
Also a general question, while I'm here:
At a loose end for something to read. Want something 'quality' but not so weighty that I'll likely never finish it ... nothing over 300 pages. Ideally post-war 2oth Century, preferably American. (Bellow? Updike? Roth? A.N. Other?)
