Mussolini's daughter apparently wrote him a thank you note after he gave that salute. To the authorities he represents all that English football has to get beyond. Even if he describes himself as a fascist rather than a racist, the distinction is obviously murky. He was also a key member of Lazio's Ultras, making any 'official' stance he might take against hooliganism look a little hypocritical. He beats up his own players but still gives the best post match interviews. Interesting times.
