the dvd is great, I love chase's drumming, he is a great drummer and better than most rock drummers today. The drums in the intro to miles away is jazzy and improvised, very cool. And of course the octopus move...

As for Nick's tricks:

Roland Space Echo (RE-201) (used as a preamp to the 2 fender amps)
EH Polyphonic Octave Generator
Turbo Rat
Digitech Whammy Pitch Controller
DigiTech Jam Man
Line 6 Delay Modeler
Line 6 Modulation Modeler
Boss RC-20XL

he uses a fender strat and a first act custom. Two Fender amps (or maybe three), one for bass and one for treble frequencies. He uses a slide for Our Time, as well as a slide for modern romance(for noise). The line 6 Delay Modeler is used to loop guitar in alot of songs...

Tunings:
drop d
an open tuning for Our Time...

it sounds like I love the band but I just love the dvd and their first ep, everything else is terrible...
