random notes:
the guy in the "bittersweet me" video is John Hyrns or Hearns...(pretty sure his name is John...think that's his last name) He moved from Athens to Austin after this video was made. he was a denizen of the now closed The Engine Room/The Manhattan bars. He was in c-00 protege Dominic De Joseph's (moved from Roger Corman's office in L.A. to Athens) short entry at the 40 Watt for Flicker film club and later, this video. Stipe once checked out eight copies of Wings of Desire for Dominic and took a year to return them. When he did, he just hurriedly stuffed them into the drop box as my friend, the manager of that store at the time, tried to chase his beat-up Volvo wagon down through the parking lot. I have another Stipe video store story actually too...for another time.
