I get what you’re saying, but I think it comes down to testing our different combinations. Some tube amps sound great with a good germanium Fuzz Face, but many do not. Same thing with tonebenders. Likewise I wouldn’t expect what works best with my Music Man to work best with a JCM 800, or a Roland Jazz Chorus.
