For the chords played between 3:25 - 3:37..:
Im pretty sure that T plays those chords in that way because of the chord progress that he needs to play in the next part (3:52 - 3:57), I'ts more easy to change the position of your fingers from the chords played in this part to the chords played in the next part. T also plays something simliar to this on "Sugar Kane", see the jools holland appearance and look at T's hands, he's playing this:
