Steve Albini's main reasons against digital:
lack of compatibility between formats
quick disintigration of digital tapes
recording is limited by whatever resolution it is at: with analog, if the playback technology gets better, you can hear records at a higher fidelity than they were originally listened to at. Digital doesn't allow that.
About compression, he pretty much said it is overused. Since compression evens out the volume in the track, it takes away from dynamics of playing.
He was also talking alot about how recording engineers think really highly of themselves and try to impress their tastes onto their client's music.
