You can opt to leave your files open to anyone browsing, or restrict it to people on your friend's list.
Also (and I don't entirely get this) it appears that with the new version, you can do some file return thing, which randomly attempts to upload your music to users downloading from you. I don't know how I feel about tune-raping other people - I figure if they want it, they'll search for it.
