also, back in early 00's, Kool Keith praised (of all people) Master P and the South's understanding of minimalism in production and interesting cadences.

to paraphrase HG Lewis' theme from 2000 MANIACS: the South will rise again... in hip hop.

i remember around the time of Black Elvis Kool Keith was giving props to some pretty wack rappers purely for the reason that they were the only ones who didn't cop styles from him.
