if you havent beat emerald before, it takes a ton of preparation, strategy, and more than anything, luck. My advice (and take into account that I havent played the game in like...4 years at least) is get your characters as fast as you possibly can. equip cloud with Mime, and hopefully you have mastered mime, and equip it on someone else. you NEED phoenix and KOTR. Also, I think if you use Hades, it lowers emeralds defense, which allows for more damage. Obviously, make sure clouds attack power is high, and that your summoners have high magic power. Once Cloud uses omnislash, have everyone on standby and mime omnislash as many times as possible. If done correctly, you pretty much only have to use KOTR and Omnislash, with a little bit of improvising after Emerald fucks your shit up.
But if you want a real challenge, play FF8 and try to beat Omega Weapon.
