well to me, it makes sure the listener listens to the piece entirely. if it was in a cd format, the temptation to skip or fast forward is more present. with the cassette, it's a pain in the ass.

i think at some points when i listen to pieces, i think "hmm i'm not in the mood for this slow build up" but i don't want to fast forward cause it sucks on a cassette player. so i sit there and listen and eventually love the piece as a whole. that's what i think.

kind of like how david lynch never separates his movies into chapters when they're released on dvd.
plus the actual cassette looks cooler, it's cheaper and i consider it part of the art.
