hype is the PRELUDE to propularity (sometimes, other times it is just a smokescreena nd popularity never comes)
HYPE exists to increase the audience for an otherwise little known artist. Hype for BIG, KNOWN artists ussually means that their last records sucked ass and they need to create interest in the new one.
