No. That is NOT what people claim, what people claim is that the scale of the problem has been grossly exaggerated, which is of course true. Could the Catholic Church have handled this better? DUH. There are MILLIONS of Catholic priests in the world, and no, there are not millions of child molesting priests.
Lets be perfectly clear though.
On average 1 out 100 people molested a child.
On average 1 in 10,000 priests molested a child.
On average 1 in 100,000 school teachers molested a child.
So really, are priests or school teachers are biggest threat or problem? Hardly, more likely its our neighbors, friends, and relatives
