As usual, a "list your favorite something or other" turns into a debate. Well, that's cool.

Kim isn't a good bass player, she isn't a bad player, she is just there. She is just a necessary component for a lot of sonic youth recordings. That's the thing about bass in general: it's usually there to fill space, which gives it a somewhat limiting role overall. At the same time, not many of us want to be subjected to endless bass solos. I made my list because it's bassists I personally feel had the most interesting riffs, perhaps not the person who was the best at "filling the space".
