of course the devil is in the details, and for his anecdote about him not having a problem in germany i have another anecdote about a person being unable to find a provider because everyone is booked up. so maybe not all is gold with the german system.

anyway, great discussion, and something will have to happen one way or another because with the current system neither patients nor doctors are in charge, so everyone must kowtow to incomprehensible and byzantyne insurance schemes.

taking over 20% of the economy with the stroke of a pen is easier said than done though...
