ehh.. I love talking music theory, it is fucking fabulous conversation. I love talking about intonation, timbre, cadence, rhythm, chord structures, harmonics, resonance, scales/keys, timing, etc etc etc
I don't like people who talk music theory with out ever actually
applying it, functioning as more-or-less
armchair conductors but for those of us who actually use these things as tools to describe, explain, communicate and understand what we do with music, it is as mind blowing as the music itself sometimes.
In regards to the topic, aside from Glice's major contributions, I say there may be thousands and thousands of new, contemporary and young bands, but very very few of them are honestly pushing things forward, and much more importantly, almost ALL the
OGz and veteranos, from classic rock, blues, jazz, hip hop, metal, punk, reggae, ALL of it, are still out there making ground breaking and innovative music. Basically, the old fogies still dominate the show
