While in Chicago for Pitchfork, I went to the Virgin records endsale before they closed and bought Lesson No. 1. I really fucking liked it and realised just how much the Sonic Youths have been inspired by this man and his fucked dissonant guitar. I have only heard samples of The Ascension and really want to hear the Theoretical Girls but haven't got the chance (other than the 30 second clip of Online Dating in Kill Your Idols.) What is yr favorite branca piece be it solo work, Theoretical work, or symphony work? Any advice as to what my next Branca disc should be?
