There is a long time saying amongst gamblers: "money won is so much sweeter than money earned."
I have NO doubt your story is true, however, gambling on pool isn't illegal. The establishment that owns the pool tables may not want it happening, but I'm pretty sure doing so isn't breaking any State law.
I'm a bit of a gambler myself......sports and on myself when playing golf or poker.
Not that it matters......but I don't consider fantasy sports gambling.
