He's a filmmaker I really admire: quietly working away on the films he wants to make without spending a fortune on them or overly moulding them for a popular audience, rarely following trends but equally responsible enough to ensure that they're commercial enough for Malpaso to carry on as a viable business. The fact that his company continues along pretty much the same lines as it did when it started in the late 60s has to be seen as a real achievment, especially considering the various changes that've struck elsewhere in Hollywood.
