No, Australia has lots of good bands but very few of them are able to play music for a living. Australia has always had many great band that nobody gives a fuck about.
My friend found a tape for 50c by this band called Pictish Blood that is absolutely killer but nobody has ever heard of them.

Also in response to terminal pharmacy and Norma J, only a few months ago did I realise how great You Am I were. I really need to search out those first few albums.
